Lex has become the official Ambassador for a £2 million fundraising campaign to establish a digital skills academy in the Scottish birthplace of his grandmother, Hollywood screen legend Deborah Kerr.
The ‘Heroes Centre’ will be a digital education and entertainment complex based in the town of Helensburgh on the west coast of Scotland. This is also where television pioneer John Logie Baird was born.
Following the initial success of the TV movie ENDEAVOUR, set in the 1960s and a prequel to the long-running Inspector Morse series for ITV, Lex Shrapnel has been cast in one of the four new episodes currently in production. He will play a character called Roy Adamson, in a story to be directed by Tom Vaughan. Like the pilot movie, the production comes from Mammoth Screen, who have also been responsible for the likes of Lost in Austen, the revival of Bouquet of Barbed Wire, and new series Falcón - currently being broadcast on Sky Atlantic.
In the final episode, SNOW MAIDEN, Byzantium is ordered to kill Jack Turner, but when the assassination attempt fails, Sam is exposed as a spy, and trapped inside the house. Turner produces the evidence he has against Byzantium's client, while Sam - secretly being poisoned to death - at last begins to recover terrible memories that explain why the Hourglass conspirators want her dead. And we have more news on the sequel series... and which actress was the first choice to play Sam!
ITV1 has announced that their two-part drama The Poison Tree will premiere on Monday 10 December 2012 at 9.00pm. Based on the novel by Erin Kelly and developed for TV by Law & Order: UK scribe Emilia di Girolamo, The Poison Tree follows translator Karen Clarke, a haunted woman who will go to extraordinary lengths to protect her family and the secrets that she keeps from them. Lex Shrapnel will feature in the role of Lenny.
Over at tvwise.co.uk, well-placed reporter Patrick Munn has managed to extract a quote out of the Cinemax hierarchy as to what they are going to do with the remaining four years of a five year story arc. What is planned would seem to mean that only the character of Sam Hunter will appear in further adventures, in what will be a spin-off, or sequel, to the original Hunted series.
